Situated off Graiseley Lane in Wolverhampton, Wednesfield Burial Ground is an integral piece of our local heritage. This pilot project focuses on the burial ground’s original two acre section, which was consecrated in 1855.

By building on a 2002 volunteer-led survey of the site, unearthing historical research, and sharing ‘Stories from the Stones’, this project brings to light the value of Wednesfield Burial Ground as a historical green space.

This pilot project was made possible through HM Government’s and West Midlands Combined Authority’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund. This support is helping raise awareness of the burial ground’s significance in Wednesfield’s history for generations to come.
